This exceedingly well-made feature was directed by Joe D’Amato, one of the last holdovers from porno’s ‘golden age.’ Shot on 35mm film, it’s easily one of the nicest-looking sex films we’ve seen in quite some time. The story revolves around the mysterious disappearance of a leading Hollywood power player, but that’s only the jumping-off point for a whole series of incendiary, arty encounters. The plot borrows liberally from everything from ‘Basic Instinct’ to ‘Tightrope,’ but never loses focus or intensity. This is classic story-driven porn at its best, with capable performances, a well-written script and some top-notch production values. Sindee Coxx shines in the lead role, playing a sexy siren who may just know more about the crime than she’s letting on. She takes on one lucky stiff atop a workout bench in a sizzling scene that’s one of the video’s best. Not one to be outdone, Kaitlyn Ashley unleashes some carnal fury of her own in a relentless sequence. Fans of clever, Hollywood-style intrigue and action will flip for this hardcore humdinger.
